LEGENDS DRAFT FOUR, FINALIZE TRAINING CAMP ROSTER

The Texas Legends drafted four players and added two from local player tryouts to finalize their 2023 training camp roster.
The team traded the number one overall pick to the South Bay Lakers in exchange for the second pick, Teafale Lenard Jr., and two future picks.
With the 17th overall pick, the Legends selected NaNa Opoku. Opoku (6-9, 215, Mount St. Mary’s) played four years at Mount St. Mary’s averaging 8.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks across 115 career games (99 starts) and earning NEC Rookie of the Week (2018), NEC Defensive Player of the Year (2021), NEC Tournament MVP (2021), and All-NEC Third Team (2022). Opoku went overseas for his rookie season, playing 20 games in Serbia and averaging 8.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game.
With the 18th overall pick, the Legends selected Maxime Carene. Carene (6-10, 216, France) has played six seasons overseas, most recently with Rueil Athletic Club of France. The Fort-de-France native averaged 4.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, 12.2 minutes across 6 games last season.
With the 1st pick in the 2nd round, the Legends selected JD Tsasa (6-8, 220, North Canyon HS).
The Legends roster now stands at 17 competing for 13 spots. The roster includes five returning players, three affiliates, two out of local player tryouts, three NBA two-way players, and four draft picks. The full roster is below.

Training camp begins Monday, October 30th. The Legends will play the Austin Spurs Nov. 4th for a preseason matchup at Paul Quinn College at 4pm.
